That should definately raise some red flags! If this is really God's chosen organization, why all the changes?????
Because the end is closer than it was 5 minutes ago.
the loving elders came by and asked me to come back to the hall with my family.
they sincerely believe that the end is near.
these changes are evidence of it.

If the buzz on the "annointed generation" is a fact, that will be the first "light" to ever be plausibly true.
However we clearly got some time still left in this system.......
Make sure you son gets a college education.....
Hope he has a great time playing on the schools teams, memories like that are golden........
I agree, HS is for memories!!! He is Fresman HC prince and he loves it!!
I had a Friday night book study my senior year. Totally Miserable, I missed everything. I was baptized at 13, so when I said my son will not get baptized until he is 18, they were clearly offended. If my wife was not kicking and pinching me, I would have been honest. The things we do for love. If she had a DF husband, she and the children would be ostracized, so I acquise.

So.....are you going back?
No, I have never experienced more hatred than at the KH. I have a few health problems that make meetings an unpleasant experience. My wife attends so I play the role.
They even said I could be an elder in a year or sooo.
Wow, what a privilledge (sp)
My son goes to increase his speaking ability. He does not want me top be an elder so he can play Basketball or any of the other sports.

One mentioned that there have been more adjustments in the last 4 years, than in the preceding 40 he has been in the org.
The end is close, I need to come back to save the life of my family.....yada, yada, yada................
The end is still near.
as a pretty new fader with no friendships other than jw's, i spend virtually all time alone, or with my jw wife.
i have little in common now with her or old friends.
at least the old friends and i liked biking (both kinds), golf, hiking, the beach, camping, tennis, boating, fishing, football (tv).
Thanks all for your sincere replys and insight. It is depressing that "friends" you have had for 30 years, that you grew up with, now seem so distant. I have a bad feeling these friends that you have shared so many experiences with are somewhat irreplaceable.
These people were never your friends. Friendship is NOT conditional. Knocking on doors and talking to strangers is the condition of the friendship. I have worldly people that love me regardless of what I do, the JWs are all conditional.
this thought just occurred to me:.
we all - even jehovah's witnesses - mourn our loved ones when they die.
we cry and wail, with good reason.
I once told an evil, worldly person that the bible only mentions 3 (or 4) birthdays. He said what about at Jesus Birth
hummmm.............. "The angels were crying out in joy".
I wrote the society about this and Job's children BDs as well. They said to wait, a QFRs would address the issue. Less than a month later the article highlighted that MATURE christians would not participate. I have celebrated my child's birthday ever since the article. (8 years ago, I think)
i invited an ex-missionary couple who served in hong kong to dinner to "hear their experiences.
" i opened a few bottles of wine.
{partly my fault} brother missionary starts slurring as i top up another glass.
My friend was married in Vegas. About 3 couples went to a room and we drinked til morning. I was mixing wine, beer and hard liqueor. When the sun came up, we decided to walk the strip. As I stood up, I crawled to the bathroom and threw up. My wife carried me to the elevator (I fit in well because everyone in Vegas is drunk or asleep at 0500). I had a taxi take us back to our room at NYNY at 0600 and was forced to check into our new hotel later that morning. I slept 2 hours, went back to get my car (Rio, I think), then back to my original room to check out (LUXOR), then to the LV Hilton to check in.
I heard they woke up with different partners that morning.

There were 3 very attractive, popular brothers in my area. Many sisters would come to their house. On any weekend, there were usually 12 women and my 3 buddies. Usually a few guys would come over as well. Dranking everyweekend. On a cold December night in LA, at about 1.AM about 25 people were there. A MS left after getting hot and heavy with a pioneer. He left and went to get a prostitute. He was robbed and stabbed by her pimp. .......and YES, he was drinking and driving. He told the elders he stopped to get a hamburger and was robbed. He gave a talk at my hall 2 months later.
I waved good-bye too him and fell asleep in the halllway. I woke up at sunrise, threw up on the floor and drove home.
All as a 21 YO. Being a JW was great. The wholesomeness wore off by 21, I was baptized at 13, and started pioneering immediately.
they had a table full of literature set up in the university square in the sun at noon.
those 2 dudes must have been sweating their balls off.
do you think they get time just for sitting there?
I met two sisters at the Austin Airport before the relocation. Had a table set up. Thjey were kind enough to offer their numbers to help me find a hall if I came back into town.
So Theocratic!!!

I have co-workers that are friends, but we have different religions. It is OK. Never forsake your wife or family, just because of a disagreement. She is a witness and I support her, I just do not participate. She accepts this. I still have moral, don't curse or become an evil person.
